Mrs.
Rhodes has over twenty years of financial experience including her
current position as Associate Vice President for Finance and
Planning. She has held past positions in budget, accounting,
payroll, financial analysis, and auditing, in either the private
sector or higher education. Her primary responsibility currently
includes overseeing the operations of the Controller area, Budget
and Planning, Bursar operation and Institutional Research at The
University of Toledo; as well as a special project team for an ERP
installation (Enterprise Resource Planning system or otherwise known
as an Administrative Computing System). This area is collectively
referred to as Finance and Planning. The primary responsibilities of
the entire Finance and Planning Group include being an analytical
resource that supports academic and administrative decision-making
by providing accurate, timely, well organized, and thoughtful
analysis and to facilitate open communication among campus
constituents. Operational responsibilities include developing and
monitoring the annual operating budget; day to day accounting
functions, inclusive of financial reporting, general accounting and
grants accounting; servicing student accounts through the functions
of billing, loans and collections and cashiering; and providing
institutional information and analysis internally and externally on
various subject matters. Mrs. Rhodes joined UT initially in 1992,
leaving the University in 1998 to accept a position at Savannah
State University. She returned to The University of Toledo in 2000.
During her first tenure at The University of Toledo she was the
Director of Budget Planning and directed all of the activities of
the staff required to develop, implement, and monitor the annual
operating budget.
In her previous
position as Vice President for Business and Finance at Savannah
State University (SSU), she had nine primary areas of responsibility
that included Financial Services, Business Services, Budgeting,
Plant Operations, Facilities Planning, Auxiliary Services, Computer
Services, Public Safety, and Human Resources. The highlight of her
tenure at SSU was the development of University Village, a 660-bed
apartment style student housing project developed through a
public/private partnership. The housing project has contributed
significantly to the enrollment growth at SSU.
